A Sweet, little, beautiful, wonderful, perfect All-American girl!
I was feeling pretty light headed and called my mom to complain about it. She demanded I call the doctor because no matter how many times I told it was normal, she just didn't believe my googled information. I promised her I would call, and left a message with acute care. Interestingly enough they asked me to come in the next day to get a CBC (which I'm assuming stands for current blood count). They told me I would have to wait an hour for the results so I sat down in the waiting room with Jonny. They called our name and we were taken into one of the rooms with a ultrasound machine. I looked at the machine, I looked at Jonny, and I decided I was going to do my best to get them to let me see my baby. The doctor came in told me the results hadn't come back yet but she wanted to ask me what was going on. After we discussed my blood disorder she asked me if there was anything else... I told her I had a problem. I said "I don't know if i'm having a boy or girl yet..." she asked if I had scheduled my big ultrasound appointment and I said I had but it was a full month away. Lucky for me, the doctor was super sweet and said we could take a peek and see if the baby was in an easy position to find out.
The doctor repositioned the ultrasound wand about 10 different times and each time she saw 3 lines. nothing in between the legs. "Looks like a girl!" she said. She told us not to take tags off of anything we buy but when I asked her for a percentage of how sure she was that it was a girl she just smiled nodded her head and said "I'm pretty sure"
We'll be expecting Peyton Nicole :)
Here is the bedding we've already picked out:
Let me know what you think!

That bedding is SOOO Cute! What a cool a cool doctor!
ReplyDeleteBut, you should talk to Wendi... she was totally expecting a little Adelaide when Nathan was actually awaiting his birthday. However, Peyton Nicole is such a sweet name, too. It goes really well together. I just love names. Good job.
Adorable! I've been waiting for you to post it on your blog so I could tell you congratulations! That is a cute name that you have picked out as well.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I am super excited for the both of you and just LOVE to read about your adventures in decorating and parenting. The name you picked out gave me goosebumps. I am hoping that you don't have the same experience that I had (as Keri mentioned above). And if you do, although this sounds cliche, whatever you get will be AMAZING!! Was your CBC okay? I got light-headed when I was pregnant with Christian. I actually fainted at Makayla's school assembly. Luckily both of us were okay, but SUPER embarrassing! Thanks for the updates!
ReplyDeleteThank you all!
ReplyDeleteKeri, he was a pretty cool doctor. It was the first time I'd seen her. I don't know how it works at most places but at this military hospital (the same one that treats the president) the doctors are on a rotation. If you choose to see one doctor you may have a stranger delivering your baby so they suggest seeing everyone. I want to stick with the last one, I don't now that it is about OBs but most of the ones I've met so far seem a little crazy!lol The last was the most sane. :)
Wendi,
I'm glad people want to take to time to reads it. I'm horrible about going back and proof reading what I write and I just kinda go with whatever in on my mind. I'm sure it can be difficult to follow sometimes!
I had no idea you were expecting a girl with Nathan. What a surprise!
I have no idea what my CBC was. They hadn't got the results back before I left. They just prescribed me iron, and told me to take it at night with orange juice. I'm assuming since I didn't get a call it was OK. Last time I had one, my iron was at 10.3 and they said they wanted it to be at 12. I get really light headed whenever I shower, blow dry my hair or do dishes. Anytime I get hot really, which will be AWESOME this summer I'm sure.. lol
I'm so glad everyone seems to like the name so far. Peyton was the only thing Jonny and I could agree on and I wanted to name her after my sister but I thought Nicole looked better without the H when paired with Peyton :)
Oh, I feel for you! I tend to be anemic and take iron often too. In fact, Grandpa Evans has sickle cell anemia and I found out that I have a low red blood cell count. It seems to be something that is hereditary. Darnit. Sorry! I hope you didn't inherit the kidney stone gene too! And I'm glad that there is a good doctor in the mix :) Hopefully there are more sane ones too. And I hope you are able to stay cool and take it easy. Congratulations again! I'm so excited!
