Today
I'm a nag. I nag Jonny everyday it seems to STOP SLEEPING!
In the morning it's "Come on, get up!"
The mid morning- "Seriously! Get up!"
The afternoon- "JONATHAN!!! The couch is not the place to sleep!"
The evening- "I swear I'm going to kill you...."
Jonny can fall asleep in less than a minute if you just let him lay his head down. Doesn't matter where, the couch, the ottoman, the floor, in the grass, on the driveway, in the car.. the guy doesn't care where he is, if he has a second to sleep he takes advantage. It's the number one most annoying thing about him.
Today though, today was different, I only nagged once!!!! Peyton was eating lunch and Jonny thought it was the perfect time to get some shut eye. Meanwhile, I was worrying about what I needed to get for the diaper bag, what Peyton was going to wear for our trip to town, what I had to wear for our trip to town, making sure to pick up Peyton's cup.. again, and about cleaning up the huge mess Peyton's lunch had turned in too. SO, when I looked over and saw his slack jaw and closed eye lids, I took it as him saying "you take care of it all, I don't care to help." which made me a tad bit upset. So, I nudged, and sighed, and gave him dirty glances, hoping to get him to see things my way. Nope. Not a chance. He assured me that once his jeans were done drying he would be up and ready to go. I had my doubts, but he followed though.
We then head off to town! OK, so this might not be the most exciting thing for most people but the last time he and I went to town together ("town" is 40 minutes away) it was September. I like doing things with him so I was more then ready to head out.
We ended up gong in to Comcast to switch our plan. No more home phone, only the first 29 channels and 6 months of free HBO, no DVR... NO DVR!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll never be able to watch my shows again I'm sure, but we'll make due.
After cutting down my magic mirror to the outside world Jonny treated Peyton and I to lunch at Olive Garden. By this time Peyton had been strapped down for some time and only lasted as long as it took for us to get our food. After that she decided to throw things and repeatedly to the sign for "all done". I packed up most of my lasagna in a to-go box (actually thats a lie, the waiter did it while Peyton and I headed to the restroom to change a diaper).
Next stop, was to Babies R US. We scanned the baby clothes, Peyton tried on a fur vest and a few head bands and was over that section so we headed of to the toys. She LOVES the little "classic style" plastic Tonka cars. They are the prefect size her her to push around, and that's just want to did with them, up and down the aisle making car noises. I love that little girl. I think we might just need to get her a couple of those for Christmas. It really was too cute for words.
We had a little bit of a hiccup when she slipped and fell. Whenever she gets hurt she reaches for me, not tonight though. She clung to her daddy for comfort. I was happy and sad at the same time. I love that she knows I'm there for her and reaches for me to make things all better so I was a little sad that she didn't. On the other hand I was very happy to see her loving on her dad. I feel like he needs more moments like that with her. I'm lucky enough to be with her all day and I'm sure he gets a little heartbroken when she pushes him away to come to me. He loves to love on her.
All tears were wiped away when she saw Elmo. I don't know what that little red monster has over her but she loves him. She gets transfixed with him. I'm more then happy to let it be. We have two Elmo movies in the car to get us though long drives. Works like a charm.
We had planed on a Target trip too but like it always does, Target got the axe. It was late and Peyton needed to get home and go to bed. Maybe we can put Target on the top of our list next time.. I hope.
Today was a good day.
