Warning!
I'm going to be messing around with my blog. Trying different layouts and dealing with sizing issues. If you have to come by when it looks crazy, I'm SORRY! Just trying to figure it all out :) Wish me luck!

Ganglion cyst
After tossing and turning all night long I had to get up early this morning. I can't really complain though, it was Jonny that when under the knife.
After his time at The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier Jonny's been pretty banged up. He's had problems with his knee from walking back and forth on marble all day. He's been in physical therapy for that and they just recently started giving him steroid shots in the IT band, which, I guess, is the problem now. His shoulder was giving him a lot of trouble for a while, as was his pelvis, and on top of all that he developed a Ganglion cyst in his wrist from all if the shoe shining and rifle work he was doing.
Jonny had scheduled a surgery to remove the cyst last month and when we went in to have it done they had him reschedule. The second appointment was also delayed because of a unexpected raise in patients coming into Walter Reed from Afghanistan. This appointment was scheduled for a different hospital to avoid another scheduling conflicted.
I took my camera thinking we'd end up going though DC and was hoping to take some not so awesome "from a moving car" pictures. Turns out we went around it. lol

When we got to the hospital we were put into the waiting "lounge". They came in about 10 minutes later and called "Pierce". Jonny and I got up. I went to grab my purse to go with him and then the nurse said "Oh, I'm just going to take him, you can wait here. I'll came back for you, I promise." I believed her. About 30ish minutes later my husband comes walking back in the room. "You're coming with me" he said. Ok great, the nurse didn't come back but I liked this guy better so I followed him down the hall. We were taken into a, well, I'm going to call it a wide hallway. They had make shift rooms big enough for a single lounge chair sectioned though out the hallway. Jonny was given two gowns one to open in back and the other to open in front and told to dress down. Once he was sporting the pale blue gown a nurse came to get him. He was then told to take off the second gown and climb in bed. I'm still not quite sure why they gave him the extra gown in the first place.... They wheeled off my husband and I was left to wait.
About an hour and a half later the doctor came in to talked to me about Jonny's surgery. He just went over the care instructions and told me it was nice to meet me. (He met me at the first appointment but I'm not going to hold it against him) lol. About 40 mins after the doctor came to tell me Jonny was out of surgery Jonny was pushed back to his section on the hallway. Now, this was the strangest part of the whole trip. The nurse pulled the curtain around Jonny's gurney and announced that she was going to help dress him. The look on Jonnys face was priceless I promise. (I would have taken pictures of all this but I didn't think it's be appropriate to bust out the camera with some many other patients out in the open.) The nurse assured Jonny it was OK for her to dress him because she "has shoes older then him". I giggled. After the nurse and I both dressed him ::giggle:: Jonny asked the nurse if she could tell me it would be required that I dress him for the next few days. (HA! So not happening!)
Anyway, now we're home Jonny's been trying to use the computer one handed to do something for work. I've been complaining about there being nothing on television and we're both looking forward to having him home for the next 2 weeks. Jonnys been doing really well with the pain. His doctor told me he was going to hurt tonight but other then taking his pain meds on time he hasn't been complaining at all. He's a tough man. I'm just happy this should be the answer to one of the problems he's been dealing with for a while and he's on his way to healing everything up.

The first belly picture.
Ok, so this is how it is. I was overweight when I got pregnant. It happens. But I'm not really comfortable with my body the way it is. Because I feel this way I don't want to put it out there for the whole world to see on facebook. I've decided to make this blog private and only allow the people I'm comfortable with view it. But this is what it is... 14 weeks 1 day.

14 weeks
I'm 14 weeks pregnant today. Gone are the days of rushing to the bathroom to hug the porcelain god (I hope). The last couple of months have been so full of ups and downs. I've been enjoying searching different websites for things to put in my baby's nursery. It's funny, I've always wanted to have a baby boy first. But lately I've been drawn to the pinks and purples of all of the little girl items out right now. Do you think it's instinct telling me we'll be having a girl? Only about 6 more weeks until we can find out for sure. I know weather we end up buying pink or blue Jonny and I will be more then thrilled to have this bundle of joy in our lives.
I've had a couple trips to the doctors because of some bleeding. first it was because the sac which holds the baby, had separated from the uterine wall in a small section. The doctors told me it was very common and I came back home with our fist pictures of the baby. I few weeks later it happened again. this time they told me there was evidence of placenta previa, they didn't go into it much but gave me a doctors note to keep me away from work for the rest of the week and told me to take it easy. I did a little research on my own and know that this corrects it's self 90% of the time so I'm not so worried about it. I hope every thing goes super smoothly from here on out.
Yesterday I turned 23. Jonny and I decided to buy a great camera. I'm excited to take some awesome belly pictures and pictures of all the baby stuff we buy as we get it. :)
Here are the ultasound pictures we've got so far :
